Sword and Sorcery

This topic reminds me of "Sci-Fi and Fantasy".. Anyone agree?

Anyway, it is just a combination of old, basic stuff working with new, high-tech stuff. I remembered something funny when I saw Dragonball. Yes, they have pole-wielding Goku and Bulma with the Dragonradar. Pretty huge difference there. Dragon ball is basically a conquest to find the dragonballs, which grants wishes. They also have Martial arts tournament to gather all the strongest fighters around. I wondered why they allowed 12-year-old Goku to enter the tournament the first time (fighting against huge and buffed dudes). Anyway, the dragonradar is a device to sense the dragonballs, which led Bulma to a journey to gather all 7 of them, Goku has one in his house, that is pretty much the reason why they met. I have always wondered, if the tournament allows the use of beams, why don't they allow guns? xD

Magic is like the strongest weapon since it can be unpredictable, requires high wisdom, etc. Nobody would carry a gun when there is magic that can reflect bullets back to the person who used them. A story about Sword and Sorcery usually have people from different race/class joining forces, with a common goal. I can list about 1 million games which does that. Okay, not so many, maybe a hundred? Yeah, but you know what I mean right? Even in games/cartoons, like Pokemon, you will need different types of Pokemon to defeat others. You can't always rely on your PIKACHU to defeat a Rock-type pokemon, it is just useless, unless your pikachu can emit a 10million Volt thunderbolt like what Enel (from One Piece) does. That reminds me, Enel uses his ULTIMATE skill Raikor, and still has no effect on Luffy, since he is made of RUBBER, Aha! One Piece also has regular things with high-tech stuff. That is why I have always wondered why people always use regular bullets instead of needle bullets against him. Not that I want him to die, but they are really THAT stupid.. They can make a cage using salt but not sharp, pointy, needle bullets?

Lastly, Mars Attack. Aliens have better technology than humans? I believe that, but they are really not that smart too.. They cannot breathe on Earth so they have to wear a "light bulb" on their heads. In the "light bulb", there are nitrogen, which acts like oxygen to us. Their weapons can turn even the strongest metal into nothingess, from humans to skeletons, but couldn't they make a better safety helmet? It really don't make sense.. Anyway, I'm also using Mars Attack as a reference for my next topic, Aliens and Alien Invasion, killing 2 birds with 1 stone, muahaha!
